The Carbon Monoxide (CO) Monitor is a tool used for collecting the amount of carbon monoxide present in the exhaled breath of an individual.

At Pelago, we have found that the personal monitor is an effective tool for reinforcing motivation during a members substance use journey. The portable, pocket-sized monitor is Bluetooth and pairs directly with the Pelago App on smartphones.

This personal CO monitor enables members to safely and easily monitor their CO readings remotely and share their results and progress directly with their coach.

Using the CO Monitor

Let’s validate your smoke-free status in less than 2 minutes.

What’s being measured

The breath test is used to measure the levels of Carbon Monoxide—poisonous gas present in cigarettes and tobacco products—in your breath.

Connect the device

First, go to Settings on your phone to confirm Bluetooth is on; this will ensure the CO monitor will pair with your phone.

Pair the monitor

To connect your monitor to the Pelago App, press the power button and wait a few seconds for the device to connect. A blue light will flash once to show pairing is complete.

Take the test

In order to get a reliable, accurate reading, please follow the instructions carefully:

  1. Inhale for 5 seconds without the device
  2. Hold your breath for 15 seconds
  3. Exhale through the device for 15 seconds

See your results

Your monitor results will populate within the Pelago App and will automatically be saved to your My Progress section.
